Kvaglund, Stengårdsvej, Lykkegårdsparken og Veldtofte

 

Along the southern part of Kvaglund there is a large green space, and further to the south you will find the Stengårdsvej area as well as Veldtofte and Novrup.

 

The northern part of Kvaglund is characterized by single-family homes arranged around common green areas as well as clustered housing. Kvaglund Center can be found in the suburb’s central common area. Kvaglund park includes ball fields and acts as a green oasis amongst the area’s apartment complexes and single family housing.

Neighbourhood Spirit

There are many communal activities in Kvaglund and on Stengårdsvej with rich possibilities to participate in the local community.

 

Kvaglund hall is a central hub together with the landowners association, church, library, Neighborhood Project 3 in 1 and the residents’ associations which hold ongoing events such as Kvaglund Day, Christmas Fest, Saint Hans Fest, Baby Bazaar, indoor flea markets, concerts and community dinners.

 

 

A number of strong international networks are located in Kvaglund, which are driven by the Cross Cultural Centre and Kvaglund Church, such as international men’s club, women meeting women, international bible study club, language café, and more.

 

 

School, SFO (after-school care programme) and youth clubs

Esbjerg Municipality is divided into seven school districts. Esbjerg East falls under three school districts with associated after-school care programs (SFO) and leisure and youth clubs.

 

Children in Kvaglund and the northern part of Stengårdsvej attend school in the Signaturskole district, with the main school in Kvaglund as well as a school branch in Skads/Andrup and a branch in Tjæreborg.

 

Children in the area around Kvaglund and Storegade, which include the southern part of Stengårdsvej, attend schools in the Cosmosskole district, which is comprised of a main school at Skolebakken in Jerne as well as a school branch in Boldesager and a branch in Spangsbjerg.

 

Children in Veldtofte attend schools in the Urbanskole district, which is made up of a main branch at Søndervangen in Østerbyen as well as a school branch at Danmarksgade in Esbjerg inner city and a branch in Rørkjær.

 

In Kvaglund you will find:

Esbjerg Municipality is divided into seven enrollment districts. 

 

In and around Kvaglund, on Stengårdsvej, in Veldtofte and Novrup you will find:

  • Børnehuset Kvaglund with the branches Askelunden (age integrated) and Firkløveren (age integrated) in Kvaglund
  • Valmuen (age integrated) at Stengårdsvej Nord, south of Kvaglund
  • Ringgården (age integrated) in Jerne, south of Kvaglund
  • Børnehuset Novrupvej (age integrated) in Veldtofte
  • Lykkegårdsparken (age integrated) in Novrup
  • Several daycares

 

In Veldtofte you will also find a private institution:

  • Blåmuslingen (kindergarten and daycare) Rudolf Steiner inspired

 

 

Infrastructure

  • There are good bus connections to the center of Esbjerg, as well as good path systems for bikes and walkers which make it easy to get around in Kvaglund, Stengårdsvej and Veldtofte.
